This week, I created a simple system for customizing character armor color. Currently, we offer four exciting choices: Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, which you can see below.
Kyle did a new round of concept art for some of our weapons. He has also started working on some new environment art. Here’s a peak at some of the sketches he created.
In the code, we reworked how AI characters detect enemies. We now use Unreal’s AI Perception component instead of the PawnSense component. Now that we’ve done that, our AI characters will stop firing when they lose sight of an enemy. Additionally, this new system will allow our AI to hear enemies and gunfire, and detect enemies using a sense of hearing. However, for the time being they are limited to visual detection.
That’s all for this week’s developer update. If you want to see more of our behind-the-scenes shenanigans, join our Discord server!
Until next week,
