Hey everyone,
I’m on vacation right now, but that doesn’t mean I can’t blog about what the dev team is working on. We’re really excited to be refining Revn’s visual style, and the first part of that is revealing our new logo for the game. Check it out:
You’ll see this new logo popping up on our Discord server, in-game, around this website, and on our social media accounts.
Cosmetics
This week, I’m working on the server backend for associating unlocked cosmetics with each player account. Kyle is working on several new character skins, which we’re very excited to share with you soon.
The way players equip cosmetics will be changing soon. Instead of picking appearances after spawning in a gameplay match, players will customize their look in a menu accessible from the Main Menu (and possibly also while waiting in the lobby). These choices will stay with you throughout the match. We want each player to have a consistent appearance in a given match.
User Settings
Speaking of consistent experiences for players, we are working on saving and loading your keybindings, mouse sensitivity, and audio and graphics settings. We know how annoying it is to constantly reset your custom keybindings every time you play Revn. Kyle is always adjusting his aim sensitivity, and I like to turn down the music volume so I can enjoy my own music while I play.
Miscellaneous
Some of our other upcoming tasks include improving the mini map and reworking minions’ AI. The AI isn’t very good right now, and it is probably the weakest link in Revn’s gameplay. Similarly, the mini map lacks a lot of information, and requires a visual overhaul.
Thanks for reading the blog! If you have any questions or feedback, let us know in our Discord server.
